(Musical reminiscence by our music guru Claudine)
Singer R. Kelly's ninth studio release (from 2009), Untitled, is an equilibrium of traditional and
contemporary R&B sounds. Unabashedly, a master of romantic soul melodies, Kelly never fails to deliver the sexy lyrical themes that he has become renowned for. Suave vocals woo on every track. The use of yodeling on standout track "Echo," perhaps a first ever in R&B history, is a clever vocal technique. Singer Keri Hilson makes a cameo, complementing Kelly, on "Number One." Kelly strays and dabbles lightly into Euro-Dance music territory on "I Love The DJ," with good results. Untitled is a continuous seductive musical foreplay that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
