Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. day. Let's take a moment to remember this great leader's contribution to the advancement of the civil rights movement.
I dug up a very old school song and video from January 1986 made in honor of Dr. King by the King Dream Chorus and Holiday Crew called "King Holiday." Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was first celebrated on January 20, 1986.
Looking at the video you'll see a young Whitney Houston, New Edition, Menudo (you'll easily spot a very teen Ricky Martin), El DeBarge and Teena Marie, just to name a few. In terms of old school rap, you'll come across some the pioneers of this art form like Run DMC, Kurtis Blow and Whodini.
They all came together to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Like Dr. King, we should all have a dream.
